I’m not ok but it’s ok

It is ok for me to say I am not ok.
No matter who I am,
what skills I have got,
I am at the end of the day
just a human being.

We break down the walls and start communicating.
Many connections occur in the painful times, not the successful glorious moments.

‘I’m a psychologist and I am sometimes not ok mentally either.’
‘I am a patient and I don’t bother listening to you. But I feel shit and I am stuck.’
These dialogue can be shared.
No expert posture.
No mental health stigma.

Learning to accept we are not ok takes a long time, and
we are not always successful in doing it.
Our minds do swing back to being the
‘strong and capable’ one many times in a day.

I bring in humility to repeatedly remind myself ‘I am just a learner like everyone else’.
In the end, it is not just the patients learning,
but I am also learning from them to just be a human being.

We are not ok but that’s ok.
It is because it will be ok eventually.
We are just being honest about our feelings, and with the others.
Validation to the self leads to healing.
