Finding Inner Peace

Finding Inner Peace

‘When despair grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief.’

Wendell Berry, The Peace of Wild Things

Even the world is a hopeless place,
even what is left between people is defense,
even negativity never disappears,
believe in the power of hope.

We can always change ourselves.
We change, not because we conform to the environment,
nor because we get defeated by the external criticisms,
but because we believe in the power in us.

We don’t have to cry over the unchanging surrounding.
It is not our problem to fix things outside our control.
Focus on what we can change.
And that’s often ourselves.

Step outside our routinely environments.
Nature is often the healing place.
We connect with calmness and deep reflections.

Who are we?
What’s important in our lives?
And we realize often we become content when we hold onto our values, beliefs and kindness.

(For those in despair, hopelessness and torment)
